UGC portfolio examples for beginners

See what brands check first, make yours free in Canva or Google Drive, and make sure brands can open it.

Updated September 2026

What a beginner portfolio looks like

  1. Your niche, at the top

“Skincare and beauty videos” tells a brand in one second if you're for them. “UGC creator” doesn't.

  2. 3–6 videos that fit their product

Brands pick by one video that looks like it was made for them. Group videos by niche so they find theirs fast.

  3. Videos play without a login

A brand won't request access or make an account. If the link asks them to sign in, they close it.

  4. What you make, in their words

“Ads with 3 hooks”, “product demos”, “unboxing”. Say the result they want, not just “videos”.

  5. How to reach you

One email, and a link to your rate card if you have one. Make the next step obvious.

Examples

3 UGC portfolio examples, from first job to pro

Start with the first one. It is enough to start writing to brands.

Example 1

Your first portfolio, no clients yet

For creators who haven't had a paid job. This is enough to start writing to brands.

  • One line on top: your niche, like “Skincare and beauty videos”
  • 3 practice videos, filmed on products you already own
  • A small note: “Practice videos, not paid”. Honest builds trust
  • What you make: demos, unboxings, ads with hooks
  • Your email

Build it in: a free Canva website or one Google Drive folder. Time: an afternoon.

Example 2

After your first few jobs

For creators with 2–5 brands done. Same page, more proof.

  • 5–8 videos, grouped by type: ads, reviews, how-to
  • Names of brands you made videos for (ask them first)
  • One short quote from a brand, if they sent one
  • A link to your rate card
  • Your email and your Instagram or TikTok

Build it in: the same Canva website. Add a page per niche when you have enough videos.

Example 3

Your own website

For creators with steady clients. Not needed for your first job.

  • Videos by niche, each one plays with one tap
  • Services by what brands want: ads, launches, product pages
  • Brands you've worked with, in a row of logos
  • Usage rights explained: organic, 6 or 12 months of ads
  • A “Get a quote” form and email

What to film for your first portfolio

Film on products you already own. Pick your niche and start with these three.

  2. 2Texture close-up on your hand
  3. 3Honest first try: what you noticed

Food & drinks

  1. 1Unbox it and take the first taste
  2. 2Make one simple recipe with it
  3. 3Where it fits in your busy day

Home & kitchen

  1. 1Before and after
  2. 23 ways I use it at home
  3. 3The problem, then how it fixes it

Baby & family

  1. 1A real moment with your kids
  2. 2Why I switched to this
  3. 3What's in my diaper bag

Fitness & wellness

  1. 1Use it in a real workout
  2. 2What's in my gym bag
  3. 3One-week check-in

Fashion & accessories

  1. 1One piece, 3 ways to wear it
  2. 2Fabric and fit close-up
  3. 3Get ready with me

Keep each video 15–30 seconds, vertical, in good daylight. Start with the product in the first 2 seconds. Label them “practice videos”. The rest of your first week, from price to first email, is in how to become a UGC creator.

Free options

Where to make your UGC portfolio for free

Both are free and open on a phone. You don't need your own website for your first job.

Canva website

Best looking
  1. Pick a free UGC portfolio template (no crown icon, so no watermarks).
  2. Add your niche line, 3–6 videos and your email.
  3. Press Share → Website → Publish. You get a free link like your-name.canva.site.
  4. Check the link below before you send it.

Free UGC portfolio templates in Canva

Google Drive folder

Fastest
  1. Make one folder, named like “Anna Lee — Skincare UGC”.
  2. Upload 3–6 videos with clear names: “Morning routine — serum”.
  3. Share → General access → “Anyone with the link” → Viewer.
  4. Check the link below before you send it.

Simple and quick. Brands see a list of files, so give each video a clear name.

Can brands open your portfolio?

Paste the link you send to brands. We open it the way a brand would and tell you if something is in the way.

We don't save your link. Instagram and TikTok links aren't opened: we explain what brands see there instead.

UGC portfolio questions

What should a UGC portfolio include?

Your niche at the top, 3 to 6 short videos that fit the brands you pitch, what kind of videos you make, and your email. Everything should open without a login. Prices and brand names are a plus, not a must.

Can I make a UGC portfolio with no experience?

Yes. Film 3 practice videos on products you already own, and label them “practice videos, not paid”. Brands look at how you film and talk, not at who paid you.

How many videos should be in a UGC portfolio?

3 to 6 is enough. Brands pick by one video that fits their product, so 3 videos in their niche beat 20 random ones.

Where can I make a UGC portfolio for free?

A Canva website (free, gives you a canva.site link) or a Google Drive folder set to “Anyone with the link”. Both work on a phone. You don't need your own website for your first job.

Is a Canva UGC portfolio template good enough?

Yes, a free template is enough to start. Pick one without Pro elements, so there are no watermarks, and publish it as a website instead of sending a design link.

Should I show my follower count in my portfolio?

Only if you also offer to post the video on your own page. For UGC, brands pay for the video, not your audience.

Should I put my prices in my UGC portfolio?

You can link to a rate card instead. It keeps the portfolio short and lets you send different prices to different brands.

What should I avoid in a UGC portfolio?

Links that ask brands to sign in, videos that take more than 2 seconds to show the product, too many niches at once, and watermarks from paid template elements. Don't show brand logos for work you didn't do: label practice videos as practice.

Can ChatGPT make my UGC portfolio?

It can help you write your niche line, a short intro and ideas for what to film. It can't film for you, and brands choose you by your own videos, so those still have to be yours.

Why can't brands open my portfolio link?

Usually the file is private: Google Drive or Canva asks them to sign in or request access. Set sharing to “Anyone with the link”, then check it with the free link check on this page.
